What content is banned on OnlyFans?
OnlyFans bans anything illegal (content involving minors, non-consent, bestiality, weapons, drugs, hate speech, self-harm, fraud and content you do not own) and, separately, a set of fully legal fetish categories including watersports, fisting, and heavy impact play, plus hardcore bondage and sadomasochistic abuse, which its Acceptable Use Policy names directly. The first group is banned on every legitimate platform, including this one, and always will be. The second group is legal between consenting adults in the United States and is permitted on explicit-first platforms. Knowing which group your content falls into tells you whether you have a legal problem or a platform problem.
Banned because it is illegal or harmful (banned everywhere, including here)
Roughly half of what OnlyFans prohibits is prohibited because it breaks the law or violates the card networks' hard rules. None of it is a grey area, and moving platforms does not make any of it allowed. It is banned on OnlyFucks permanently and without exception. Being explicit-first is not a loophole around this line; it is a clearer version of the same line.
Anyone under 18, or content styled to look underage
Every performer must be over 18 and verified with government photo ID. OnlyFans also removes content that merely suggests a performer is a minor, even when they are not. This line is identical on every legitimate platform, including ours.
Non-consensual acts, revenge content and coercion
Anything filmed or shared without the informed consent of everyone in it, including revenge porn and hidden-camera footage, is prohibited. Consent has to be real, not staged as real and then labelled fiction.
Anyone unable to consent
Content involving a person who is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to consent is banned outright.
Bestiality
Sexual content involving animals is illegal and permanently prohibited.
Weapons and firearms in frame
OnlyFans bars imagery that shows a gun, knife or other weapon, because payment processors treat it as a risk signal regardless of context.
Drugs and drug paraphernalia
You cannot post yourself using drugs or holding paraphernalia such as a bong. This is a processor rule as much as a policy one.
Hate speech, threats and harassment
Content attacking someone for a protected characteristic, or that threatens or harasses a person, is prohibited.
Self-harm and suicide content
Any content that depicts or encourages self-harm or suicide is banned.
Deepfakes of real people without consent
Generating sexual content depicting a real person, celebrity or private individual without their explicit consent is prohibited, and increasingly illegal.
Fraud, scams and content you do not own
Promoting scams, and posting copyrighted, leaked or ripped material you did not create and do not hold the rights to, are both banned.
Banned even though it is legal (the categories a platform can permit)
The other half is the part that costs working creators their catalogs. These acts are legal between consenting adults over 18 in the United States. OnlyFans restricts them anyway: some sit on its published restricted-word list, so a caption alone can pull a post, and two, hardcore bondage and sadomasochistic abuse, are named directly in its Acceptable Use Policy. A creator moderated for any of these did nothing wrong under the law. They filmed something a payment-risk policy would not carry. Three removal reasons that are about the format, not the subject
Everything above is about what is in the frame. OnlyFans also publishes removal reasons that catch posts nobody would describe as explicit at all, and these are the ones creators trip over without realising a rule exists. Worth stating plainly because it is counterintuitive: a fully clothed post announcing a subscriber giveaway is closer to a documented removal reason than a hardcore scene between two verified adults. Reading this list forward, before you pick a niche
Almost everybody arrives at a page like this backwards, after a removal, looking for what went wrong. The list is far more valuable read the other way, months earlier, while the niche is still a decision rather than a catalog. A creator who checks the restricted words before committing loses nothing. A creator who checks after two years has a library they cannot caption and an audience built on a term the filter refuses.
This matters most because the advice pointing new creators at niches almost never mentions policy at all. The recurring recommendations on "most profitable OnlyFans niches" pages include femdom, and the words that define femdom, "pegging", "CBT", "cock and ball torture" and "ballbusting", are all on the restricted list quoted above. The advice is not wrong about the demand. It is silent about whether the platform it recommends will let you name what you sell. Why does OnlyFans ban legal content?
Almost always, the reason is payment processing, not morality. Visa and Mastercard impose strict conditions on businesses that sell adult content, and a platform that wants to keep card payments manages that risk by banning categories the networks treat as high-risk, well before anything illegal is involved. That is why the restricted-word list reads the way it does, and why an account can be actioned over a caption. It is a commercial decision made upstream of the creator. An explicit-first platform makes a different trade: it builds its rules and its payment relationships around adult content from the start, so it can permit legal fetish work that a mainstream platform cannot risk carrying.
