OnlyFans banned content: the prohibited content list, and what is legal to sell elsewhere

OnlyFans bans two very different kinds of content, and the difference decides your whole business. One half is illegal and banned on every real platform. The other half is fully legal between consenting adults, banned only because OnlyFans and the card networks draw their line well inside the law. This page sorts the prohibited-content list into those two groups, so you can see which of your work is a problem everywhere and which just needs a platform that permits it.

Adults 18+ only. OnlyFans publishes no single canonical list; this is compiled from its Acceptable Use Policy and restricted-word list. Verify the current policy before you rely on it.

What content is banned on OnlyFans?

OnlyFans bans anything illegal (content involving minors, non-consent, bestiality, weapons, drugs, hate speech, self-harm, fraud and content you do not own) and, separately, a set of fully legal fetish categories including watersports, fisting, and heavy impact play, plus hardcore bondage and sadomasochistic abuse, which its Acceptable Use Policy names directly. The first group is banned on every legitimate platform, including this one, and always will be. The second group is legal between consenting adults in the United States and is permitted on explicit-first platforms. Knowing which group your content falls into tells you whether you have a legal problem or a platform problem.

Banned because it is illegal or harmful (banned everywhere, including here)

Roughly half of what OnlyFans prohibits is prohibited because it breaks the law or violates the card networks' hard rules. None of it is a grey area, and moving platforms does not make any of it allowed. It is banned on OnlyFucks permanently and without exception. Being explicit-first is not a loophole around this line; it is a clearer version of the same line.

Anyone under 18, or content styled to look underage

Every performer must be over 18 and verified with government photo ID. OnlyFans also removes content that merely suggests a performer is a minor, even when they are not. This line is identical on every legitimate platform, including ours.

Non-consensual acts, revenge content and coercion

Anything filmed or shared without the informed consent of everyone in it, including revenge porn and hidden-camera footage, is prohibited. Consent has to be real, not staged as real and then labelled fiction.

Anyone unable to consent

Content involving a person who is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to consent is banned outright.

Bestiality

Sexual content involving animals is illegal and permanently prohibited.

Weapons and firearms in frame

OnlyFans bars imagery that shows a gun, knife or other weapon, because payment processors treat it as a risk signal regardless of context.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia

You cannot post yourself using drugs or holding paraphernalia such as a bong. This is a processor rule as much as a policy one.

Hate speech, threats and harassment

Content attacking someone for a protected characteristic, or that threatens or harasses a person, is prohibited.

Self-harm and suicide content

Any content that depicts or encourages self-harm or suicide is banned.

Deepfakes of real people without consent

Generating sexual content depicting a real person, celebrity or private individual without their explicit consent is prohibited, and increasingly illegal.

Fraud, scams and content you do not own

Promoting scams, and posting copyrighted, leaked or ripped material you did not create and do not hold the rights to, are both banned.

Legal or illegal: the two halves of the banned list

Category Legal for adults in the US? On OnlyFans On an explicit-first platform
Minors, non-consent, bestiality No, illegal Banned Banned
Weapons, drugs, hate, self-harm Restricted or illegal Banned Banned
Watersports, fisting, heavy impact play Yes, legal Restricted Permitted
Hardcore bondage, sadomasochistic abuse Yes, legal Prohibited by name Permitted

OnlyFans publishes no single canonical banned-content list. This compares its Acceptable Use Policy and restricted-word list against US law; confirm the current policy before you rely on it.

Why does OnlyFans ban legal content?

Almost always, the reason is payment processing, not morality. Visa and Mastercard impose strict conditions on businesses that sell adult content, and a platform that wants to keep card payments manages that risk by banning categories the networks treat as high-risk, well before anything illegal is involved. That is why the restricted-word list reads the way it does, and why an account can be actioned over a caption. It is a commercial decision made upstream of the creator. An explicit-first platform makes a different trade: it builds its rules and its payment relationships around adult content from the start, so it can permit legal fetish work that a mainstream platform cannot risk carrying.

Questions creators ask about banned content

What is not allowed on OnlyFans?

OnlyFans does not allow anything illegal (content with minors, non-consent, bestiality, weapons, drugs, hate speech, self-harm, deepfakes without consent, or content you do not own) and separately restricts a set of legal fetishes including watersports, fisting and heavy impact play, and prohibits hardcore bondage and sadomasochistic abuse by name in its Acceptable Use Policy.

Does OnlyFans have a banned content list?

OnlyFans does not publish one single canonical list. Its rules are spread across the Acceptable Use Policy, the Terms of Service and a restricted-word list that filters captions and messages. Because there is no official master list, creators compile the categories from those documents and from removals other creators report.

Is fetish content banned on OnlyFans?

Some of it. Milder kink is fine, but OnlyFans restricts several legal fetishes tied to bodily fluids and heavy impact, and names hardcore bondage and sadomasochistic abuse as prohibited. These acts are legal between consenting adults in the US, so the restriction is platform policy driven by payment risk, not law.

What happens if you post banned content on OnlyFans?

The post is removed, and repeated or serious violations lead to account suspension or permanent closure, sometimes with earnings frozen in the balance. Because the restricted-word filter acts on text, a post can be pulled for a caption even when the video itself would have passed, which is why affected creators keep a backup platform.

Where can I post content that OnlyFans bans?

Legal content that OnlyFans restricts, such as watersports, fisting or hardcore bondage, can be posted on an explicit-first platform that permits it in writing and verifies its performers. Illegal content cannot be posted anywhere legitimate; moving platforms never makes it allowed.

If your work is legal, it deserves a platform that says so

OnlyFucks is explicit-first: legal hardcore and fetish content is permitted in writing, you keep ownership of everything you upload, and the illegal half of this list stays banned, permanently.
