How much can you charge for PPV on OnlyFans?

Between $3 and $100. OnlyFans publishes that band in two separate Help Center articles, one for a pay to unlock message and one for a pay to unlock post, and both give the same pair of numbers. The 20% platform fee comes off the top, so the most a single unlock can ever put in your balance is $80, and the least is $2.40.

The reason this is hard to look up is that OnlyFans does not use the word everybody else uses. The creator internet says PPV. OnlyFans files the feature under "pay to unlock", and its two pricing articles are titled "How much can I charge for a pay to unlock message?" and "How much can I charge for a pay to unlock post?". Search its Help Center for PPV and the numbers do not come up. The phrase "Pay Per View" appears once in passing, in the subscription article, and "pay-per-view Content" is defined in the Terms of Use as a type of Creator Interaction, but the limits themselves are filed under the other name.

That naming gap is why the search results for this question are full of confident, conflicting numbers. We went and read the articles instead.

Every published OnlyFans price limit, and what you keep after the fee

The minimum and maximum columns are quoted from OnlyFans. The net column is simple arithmetic on the 20% fee the Terms of Use publish, not an estimate. Where OnlyFans documents no figure, the table says "Not published" rather than filling the gap.

Two things in that table are worth pausing on. The tip ceiling is the only one of these numbers that moves with account age: OnlyFans states plainly that the maximum tip is "$100 for new users, and $200 for users who have been on the platform for at least 4 months". The pay to unlock articles publish no equivalent tier. They give one number, with no seniority condition attached, which means a creator four years in has the same $100 ceiling as one on their first week.

The other is the bundle. A subscription tops out at $50 a month, but a bundle of two or more months can be sold for up to $250 in one transaction. That is the single largest sale OnlyFans permits, and it is the one most pricing guides never mention, because it does not fit the PPV framing they are writing to.

What the top results for this question get wrong

Every claim in the left column appeared on page one of the US results for OnlyFans PPV pricing on 16 August 2026. They contradict each other, which is the tell: at least two of them have to be wrong before you check any of them against the platform.

The average is the one to be most careful with, because it is the number creators most want. There isn't one. OnlyFans has never published an average unlock price, a median, or any distribution of what fans pay. Every "the average PPV is $X" line you will read traces back to an agency looking at its own client roster, and an agency that manages ten creators in one niche is not a sample of anything. The band is documented. The average is not, and a page that hands you a made-up average has told you something worse than nothing.

The $100 ceiling is really an $80 ceiling, and it can go back to zero

Two published rules sit between the price you set and the money you keep. The first is the fee. The Terms of Use put it in one sentence: "Our Fee is calculated as 20% of the total Fan Payment and will be deducted from each Fan Payment." There is no lower rate for volume, no tier, and no distinction between a subscription and an unlock. A $100 pay to unlock message nets $80.

The second is the chargeback, and it is the one that changes how you should price. OnlyFans states in its Help Center that it "cannot prevent a Fan from issuing a chargeback request", and that if a fan "successfully requests a refund or a chargeback the amount will be removed from the Creator's income". The Terms say the same thing in colder language: OnlyFans "may deduct an amount equal to the Creator Earnings portion of the refunded or chargedback amount". There is no published process by which a creator contests the reversal itself. You can report the fan. You cannot appeal the money.

That is the real argument against pricing at the ceiling. A $100 unlock and a $15 unlock carry the same zero protection, but one of them removes $80 from your balance when it goes wrong. The practical read of the published rules is to keep individual unlocks modest, sell more of them, and reserve genuinely expensive work for a sale you can structure yourself. Timing matters too. OnlyFans holds earnings in a Pending Balance for 7 days for most creators, "and Creators in a small number of countries that have a high level of reversed transactions will have Pending Balances for 21 days", switching to the 7 day cycle "after four months from their first earned transaction". The minimum withdrawal is $20 for most payout methods, and payouts are processed within 3 to 5 business days, occasionally up to 10.

How much should I charge for PPV on OnlyFans?

Price the unlock against what the fan has already spent on you this month, not against how long the video is or how much it cost you to shoot. A subscriber who paid $10 to be there reads a $40 unlock as being asked to quadruple their spend on a whim. The same $40 lands completely differently on a free page where the subscription cost them nothing, which is exactly why OnlyFans allows a $0.00 subscription price and points creators toward monetising "individual pieces of content through Pay Per View or direct messages" instead.

That is the one genuine strategic decision the published limits force on you, and it is upstream of every caption you will ever write. A paid page caps your recurring revenue at $50 per subscriber per month and makes unlocks a supplement. A free page has no recurring revenue at all and makes unlocks the entire business. Both work. Running a $4.99 page and then pricing unlocks as if the fan were on a free page is what does not work, and it is the most common pricing mistake in the niche.

Beyond that, the arithmetic is unglamorous. Ten $10 unlocks and one $100 unlock produce the same $80 after fees, but the ten spread the chargeback risk across ten fans and give you ten observations about what your audience buys. How do I send a PPV message on OnlyFans?

OnlyFans documents it in four steps. Go to the fan's page and select "Message". The New Message window opens alongside your current messages. Add a Price to the message. Fans "will be charged automatically when they agree to view, and pay for, the content in your message". The $3 to $100 band applies at the moment you set that price, so a figure outside it simply cannot be entered.

A pay to unlock post works the same way but on the post itself, which locks it for everyone including your existing subscribers until they pay separately. That is worth thinking about before you use it on a paid page: a subscriber who is already paying monthly and then hits a locked post has been charged twice for the same page, and it is a reliable way to generate the refund requests described above.

Two adjacent limits are worth knowing while you are in the pricing screen. A promotional campaign can discount your subscription by up to 90%, and a Free Trial can be offered only to fans "who have not subscribed to your profile and who's subscription is not set to auto renew". Both are set from the same Subscription Price screen, under "Add a Promotional Campaign".

Can I get fans to pay me for content on another platform?

Not from inside OnlyFans, and the platform is unusually blunt about it. Its Help Center answer is three sentences: "No. The use of third-party payment systems outside of OnlyFans are not allowed. If you try to direct Fans to make a payment outside the OnlyFans platform there is a risk your account will be deactivated."

Read that precisely, because the distinction it draws is the one that matters. What OnlyFans prohibits is redirecting an OnlyFans fan to an outside payment. It does not, and could not, prohibit you from also selling your work somewhere else to people who found you somewhere else. Creators run pages on several platforms at once and it is a normal, permitted way to work. The rule you are breaking is the one where you take a fan who is already on OnlyFans and push the transaction off it. Why a price ceiling is a strange thing for a marketplace to have

A $100 cap on a single sale is a risk control, not a pricing philosophy. It exists because high-value card transactions in this industry attract chargebacks, and the processor behind the platform would rather cap the exposure than underwrite it. That is a defensible business decision. It is also a decision made about your work, without you, that quietly puts a lid on what a custom shoot can ever be worth on that platform.
